Morelia: ciudad y poder 1950-1970

Abstract

The present work pertains to a Masters thesis in Arquitectura, Investigación y Resturación de Sitios y Monumentos, which is part of the division of the graduate studies at the University Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo. This investigation focuses on the analysis and study of the spatial construction of the city of Morelia as it relates to the relationship of power between the years of 1950 and 1970. To this effect, sources from archives and urban-sociologic sources were used to be able to understand these relationships and their effects on the city. A fundamental part of the work with the use of maps, plans, and photographs that can be found in archieves of different institutions like in particular collections. Finally, it is important to note that that this thesis was completed in the department of Arquitectura, Investigación y Resturación de Sitios y Monumentos with respect to the history of architecture and urbanism in the 20 th century.

El presente trabajo pertenece a la tesis de Maestría en Arquitectura, Investigación y Restauración de Sitios y Monumentos, la cual es parte de la División de Estudios de Posgrado de la Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo. Esta investigación se centra en el análisis y estudio de la conformación espacial de Morelia a partir de las relaciones de poder que en ella se ejercieron de 1950 a 1970. Para tal efecto, se consultaron fuentes de archivo así como hemerográficas, estudiadas desde un enfoque de tipo urbano-sociológico para poder entender tales relaciones y su efecto en la ciudad. Parte fundamental del trabajo, fue el uso de cartografía, planos y fotografías aéreas que se encontraron tanto en archivos de diferentes instituciones, como en colecciones particulares. Cabe destacar, que el presente escrito pretende aportar conocimiento a los estudios que se están realizando en la Maestría de Arquitectura, Investigación y Restauración de Sitios y Monumentos respecto a la historia de la arquitectura y urbanismo del siglo XX.
