Muchos hombres a la vez y un solo revolucionario. Una historia intelectual del joven José Revueltas, 1920-1940

Abstract

On this research we pretend to work with the intellectual history to reconstruct trough a creative use of different documentary sources the social spaces in which the young José Revueltas developed in his early years. We are interested to discover the political and cultural contexts of Mexico City, the ways through which Revueltas became into contact with the communist world, the various readings he did, the characters with whom he was related from at an early age and the activities he carried out in the political organizations where he was a member. In addition, we consider important to reconstruct the intellectual networks with those he joined, the spaces of sociability in which he participated, the texts he wrote for some newspapers, the magazines and some other left-wing print media and, finally, the contexts of debate that ran through the political and cultural fields in Mexico through the period that goes from 1920 to 1940.

En esta investigación se busca trabajar con la historia intelectual para reconstruir a través de un uso creativo de diferentes fuentes documentales los espacios sociales en los que el joven José Revueltas se desarrolló en sus primeros años. Nos interesa conocer los contextos políticos y culturales de la Ciudad de México, las formas a través de las cuales Revueltas entró en contacto con el mundo comunista, las diversas lecturas que hizo, los personajes con los que se relacionó desde temprana edad y las actividades que realizó en las organizaciones políticas en las que militó. Además, buscaremos reconstruir las redes intelectuales con las que se vinculó, los espacios de sociabilidad en los que participó, los textos que escribió para algunos periódicos, revistas y algunos otros medios impresos de izquierda y, finalmente, los contextos de debate que recorrieron el campo político y cultural de México durante el período que va de 1920 a 1940.
