Productividad y competitividad de la industria textil y de la confección de México: un análisis con China, durante el periodo 1995-2011

Abstract

The research seeks to describe the behavior of exports in the textile and garment industry in Mexico with the world leader in the industry, which is the People's Republic of China, during the period from 1995 to 2011, through the standardized index of the comparative advantage revealed by Run Yu, Junning Cai and PingSun Leung (2009). In addition to this, the index of labor productivity of of the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI, 2010) will be made for the countries and the possible causes that provoke the changes in the productivity of each country will be analyzed. The extraction of the data refers to the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the National Accounts of Mexico (INEGI) and China (National Bureau of Statistics of China).

Esta investigación busca hacer una descripción del comportamiento de las exportaciones de la industria textil y de la confección de México con el líder mundial de la industria que es la República Popular de China, durante el periodo de 1995 al 2011, a través del índice normalizado de la ventaja comparativa revelada por Run Yu, Junning Cai and PingSun Leung (2009). Aunado a ello, se realiza el cálculo del índice de productividad laboral del Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Geografía (INEGI, 2010) para ambos países y analizar las posibles causas que provocaron los cambios en la productividad de cada país. La extracción de los datos secundarios será de la World Trade Organization (WTO) y de las cuentas nacionales de México (INEGI) y China (National Bureau of Statistics of China).
