El derecho a la verdad en Latinoamérica y México

Abstract

The right to the truth is an implicit human right within national and international regulations. The importance of this implies an integral reparation of the damage caused to victims, their families and the society, and more when there are cases of serious violations of human rights. The right to the truth is intimately related to what reality implies in the grieving process, and as the absence of truth affects the emotional and physical health of the human being who suffers a loss. The right to the truth as a human right must have the necessary guarantees for its protection.

El derecho a la verdad es un derecho humano implícito dentro de la normativa nacional como internacional. La importancia del mismo implica una reparación integral del daño causado a víctimas, familiares de las mismas y la sociedad en general cuando se dan casos de violaciones graves de derechos humanos. El derecho a la verdad, está íntimamente relacionado con lo que implica la realidad en el proceso de duelo, y cómo la ausencia de la verdad repercute en la salud emocional y física del ser humano que sufre una pérdida. El derecho a la verdad como derecho humano debe contar con las garantías necesarias para su protección.
