Abstract

The hagiographies La Azuzena entre espinas and La Abeja de Michoacán were written by Joseph Antonio Eugenio Ponce de León in the middle of the eighteenth century. This type of writings were used during the Colony for the formation of women in colleges, beaterios and convents. So, analyzing the discursive strategies used in these texts will allow us to obtain data that will help to understand the way in which the religious woman of New Spain was recreated. On the other hand, knowing the historical passing of hagiographies and inserting them into the discursive genre is fundamental to locate the hagiographies in the context of the time.Las hagiografías La Azuzena entre espinas y La Abeja de Michoacán fueron escritas por Joseph Antonio Eugenio Ponce de León a mediados del siglo XVIII. Este tipo de escritos fueron utilizados durante la Colonia para la formación de mujeres en colegios, beaterios y conventos. Así que analizar las estrategias discursivas empleadas en estos textos nos permitirá obtener datos que ayudarán a entender la forma en que se recreó a la mujer religiosa de la Nueva España. Por otro lado, conocer el transcurrir histórico de las hagiografías e insertarlas dentro del género discursivo es fundamental para ubicar a las hagiografías en el contexto de la época.
