Segunda vuelta electoral presidencial en México

Abstract

The legal rules as a fundamental part of our social environment are subject to evolve as fast as the society does. It’s not different in political and electoral subjects. It is indispensable to stablish the tools that would allow us to have the government that is better for us and our social needs. The second round of elecections or run-off as a tiebreaker mechanism allows us to have a better governance with more legitimacy and social support which strengthens the democratic process. In this research we will study this electoral mechanism and some countries that use it highlighting its operation and utility in their electoral system. The object of this research is to analyze the viability of the presidential run-off in Mexico, examining very carefully the pros and cons that this figure could have.

Las normas jurídicas como parte fundamental de nuestro entorno social se encuentran sujetas a evolucionar del mismo modo que lo hace la sociedad en la que vivimos. En materia política y electoral no es distinto, resulta indispensable establecer las herramientas necesarias que nos permitan tener un gobierno que se adecue a nuestras necesidades sociales. La Segunda Vuelta Electoral como mecanismo democrático de desempate, nos permite tener un gobierno con una mejor y mayor gobernabilidad, legitimidad y respaldo ciudadano, lo cual fortalece el sistema político del País que la contempla. En la presente investigación estudiaremos esta herramienta, así como diversos Países que cuentan con ella en la actualidad, destacando el funcionamiento y utilidad dentro de su marco electoral. El objetivo de este estudio es analizar la viabilidad de la Segunda Vuelta Electoral presidencial en México, examinando cuidadosamente las ventajas y desventajas que ésta pudiera llegar a tener.
