Bandolerismo en el bajío michoacano 1877-1893

Abstract

This research questions the issue of banditry in Mexico, specifically in the districts of Puruándiro, La Piedad, Jiquilpan and Zamora in the western state of Michoacán. That entity is part of a region of historic importance, the Mexican Bajío. The choice of districts has some statements regarding those sites enjoyed settings (particularly the economic and social) that made it unlikely the exercise of certain punitive activities, including banditry as a base. However, this research is to demonstrate (through a document search ) that such social action was present, stay and not a few characteristics in common.

La presente investigación problematiza el tema del bandolerismo en México, específicamente en los distritos de Puruándiro, La Piedad, Jiquilpan y Zamora en el poniente del Estado de Michoacán. Dicha entidad forma parte de una región de importancia histórica, el Bajío mexicano. La elección de los distritos tiene como base algunas afirmaciones referentes a que esos sitios gozaron de escenarios (particularmente el económico y el social) que hacían poco probable el ejercicio de ciertas actividades punitivas, entre ellas el bandolerismo. Sin embargo, la presente investigación trata de evidenciar (mediante una búsqueda documental) que dicha acción social tuvo presencia, permanencia y no pocas características en común.
