Frecuencia de sensibilización a alérgenos en pacientes con asma bronquial y/o rinitis alérgica del Hospital Infantil de Morelia en el periodo 2015-2019

Abstract

To identify the allergens that affect patients with a diagnosis of Bronchial Asthma, Allergic Rhinitis or both pathologies according to age, sex and place of residence, treated in the Pediatric Allergology service of the Children's Hospital of Morelia "Eva Sámano de López Mateos" in a period of time from 2015 to 2019. PATIENTS AND METHOD: Data from 2015 to 2019 were collected, identifying 212 patients with an established diagnosis of Bronchial Asthma and/or Allergic Rhinitis, with application of skin tests, were used 58 allergens, in patients from 48 municipalities in the state of Michoacán. It corresponds to a descriptive, retrospective, observational and risk-free study in 212 patients, treated at the Pediatric Allergology service of the Morelia Children's Hospital. The information was obtained from card holders of the service and to whom specific allergen immunotherapy was provided. RESULTS: The male sex represented 65% of the cases studied with a 1.9:1 ratio. The most frequent age at presentation was 4-7 years with 46%, and the most affected age group was school with 52%. The prevalence of Allergic Rhinitis was 39%, Asthma 35% and both pathologies 26%. Of the 113 municipalities belonging to the State of Michoacán, 42% were part of this study, the Municipality of Morelia the one that registered the most cases with 81 patients (38%). The most frequent allergens found according to allergenic group, sex and place of residence were mites, and of them the most frequent was the Dermatophagoydes pteronyssinus mite, with affectation 139 patients (66%) and 38 of the municipalities studied (79%).

Identificar los alérgenos que afectan a pacientes con diagnóstico de Asma Bronquial, Rinitis Alérgica o de ambas patologías de acuerdo a edad, sexo y lugar de residencia, atendidos en el servicio de Alergología Pediátrica del Hospital Infantil de Morelia “Eva Sámano de López Mateos” en un periodo de tiempo de 2015 a 2019. PACIENTES Y MÉTODO: Se recabaron datos de 2015 hasta 2019, identificándose 212 pacientes con diagnóstico establecido de Asma Bronquial y/o Rinitis Alérgica, con aplicación de pruebas cutáneas, se emplearon 58 alérgenos, en pacientes procedentes de 48 municipios del estado de Michoacán. Corresponde a un estudio descriptivo, retrospectivo, observacional y sin riesgo en 212 pacientes, atendidos en el servicio de Alergología Pediátrica del Hospital Infantil de Morelia. La información se obtuvo de los tarjeteros del servicio y a quienes se les proporciono inmunoterapia alérgeno especifica. RESULTADOS: El sexo masculino representó el 65 % de los casos estudiados con una relación 1.9:1. La edad de presentación más frecuente fue de los 4-7 años con 46 %, y el grupo etario más afectado fue el escolar con un 52%. La prevalencia de Rinitis Alérgica fue de 39%, de Asma 35% y 26% ambas patologías. De los 113 municipios pertenecientes al Estado de Michoacán, 42% formaron parte de este estudio, el Municipio de Morelia el que más casos registró con 81 pacientes (38%). Los alérgenos más frecuentes encontrados de acuerdo al grupo alergénico, sexo y lugar de residencia fueron los ácaros, y de ellos el más frecuente fue el ácaro Dermatophagoydes pteronyssinus, con afectación de 139 pacientes (66 %) y a 38 municipios de los estudiados (79 %).
