Estilos de aprendizaje, coeficiente intelectual y su relación con la motivación académica en médicos residentes de medicina familiar en una unidad de medicina familiar

Abstract

INTRODUCTION Learning styles are the different ways in which an individual can learn, which can be modified through interaction with the school environment. IQ is an objective measure of development in relation to chronological age. Academic motivation is considered a tendency to achieve goals or objectives, in students it is sought that they are motivated to achieve academic and professional goals. OBJECTIVE To determine the relationship between IQ, learning styles with academic motivation in medical residents. MATERIAL AND METHODS Observational, cross-sectional descriptive study in family medicine resident physicians at UMF 82. The CHEA questionnaire (learning styles) and the Raven test (intelligence quotient), the CEAP48 questionnaire (academic motivation) were applied, chi square to establish relationships between variables. RESULTS: 20 first and second-degree residents of the Family Medicine specialty, affiliated to the UMF82. A Reflexive and theoretical learning style was identified with a higher score, the most prevalent IQ increased, the average in a range of 90 to 109, in terms of academic motivation we determined that 75% and excellent academic performance. CONCLUSIONS: The students had a predominantly theoretical and reflective style, during the school year, there is no relationship between IQ and learning styles in Family Medicine resident physicians.

INTRODUCCIÓN Los estilos de aprendizaje son las diferentes maneras en que un individuo puede aprender, los cuales pueden irse modificando, mediante la interacción con el ambiente escolar. El coeficiente intelectual, es una medición objetiva del desarrollo EN relación a la edad cronológica. La motivación académica es considerada una tendencia de lograr metas u objetivos, en los alumnos se busca que se encuentren motivados para lograr metas académicas y profesionales. OBJETIVO Determinar la relación entre coeficiente intelectual, estilos de aprendizaje con la motivación académica en médicos residentes. MATERIAL Y METODOS Estudio observacional, transversal descriptivo en médicos residentes de medicina familiar de la UMF 82, Se aplicó el cuestionario CHEA (estilos de aprendizaje) y el test de Raven (coeficiente intelectual), el cuestionario CEAP48 (motivación académica), se utilizó chi cuadrada para establecer relaciones entre variables. RESULTADOS: 20 médicos residentes de primer y segundo grado de la especialidad de Medicina Familiar, adscritos a la UMF82, Se identificó un estilo de aprendizaje Reflexivo y teórico con mayor puntaje, se demostró el coeficiente intelectual de mayor predominio es el promedio en un rango de 90 a 109, en cuánto a la motivación académica determinamos que el 75% y un excelente rendimiento académico. CONCLUSIONES: Los estudiantes tuvieron un estilo preponderantemente teórico y reflexivo, durante el ciclo escolar, no existe una relación entre el coeficiente intelectual y los estilos de aprendizaje en médicos residentes de Medicina Familiar.
