Identificación de reacciones de hipersensibilidad tipo IV al níquel en pacientes alérgicos que inician tratamiento ortodóntico

Abstract

Objective: To identify reactions of hypersensitivity cutaneous type IV to nickel in patient allergic that begin treatment ortodóncico, coming from the clinic of CUEPI of the graduate degree of orthodontics of UMSNH. Material and method: 36 patients that began treatment ortodóncico with clinical history of positive allergy participated. The patients were subjected to tests of cutaneous (patch test chambers, allergEAZE, Canada) hypersensitivity impregnated with 40.L of sulfate of Neither to 5% of (allergEAZE, Germany) the company SmartPractice, giving readings of allergic manifestations at the 24, 48 and 72 hours, according to the approaches of observation of the International Group of Investigation of Dermatitis of Contact.

Algunos aparatos ortodóncicos están fabricados de acero inoxidable, presentando un contenido aproximado del 8% de níquel y en arcos superelásticos 50%, el níquel es el metal que causa más reacciones alérgicas, sobre todo en personas con fondo atópico. La forma más sencilla de detectar reacciones alérgicas al níquel es mediante pruebas epicutáneas. Objetivo: Identificar reacciones de hipersensibilidad cutánea tipo IV a níquel en pacientes alérgicos que inician tratamiento ortodóncico, provenientes de la clínica del CUEPI del postgrado de ortodoncia de la UMSNH. Material y método: Participaron 36 pacientes que iniciaban tratamiento ortodóncico con historia clínica de alergia positiva. Los pacientes fueron sometidos a pruebas de hipersensibilidad cutánea (patch test chambers, allergEAZE, Canadá) impregnados con 40?L de sulfato de Ni al 5% (allergEAZE, Alemania) de la empresa SmartPractice, dando lecturas de manifestaciones alérgicas a las 24, 48 y 72 horas, de acuerdo a los criterios de observación del Grupo Internacional de Investigación de Dermatitis de Contacto.
