Cadena de valor en la competitividad internacional del café mexicano

Abstract

With the objective to help improve the value chain of coffee in Mexico, this study describes the connection between each of the agents in both global and national levels, seeking to determine if the competitiveness of this sector is influenced by the degree of integration among its agents, using the methodology of value chain analysis given by Porter. The reasons which have influenced its current situation are also discussed. The main hypothesis of the research is that the integration of the value chain has a positive impact on the competitiveness of Mexican coffee.

Con el fin de contribuir al mejoramiento de la cadena de valor del café en México, este estudio describe la conexión entre cada uno de los agentes tanto en el ámbito global como nacional, buscando determinar si la competitividad de este sector se ve influenciada por el grado de integración entre sus agentes, utilizando la metodología de análisis de cadena de valor propuesta por Porter. Se exponen también las razones que han influido en su actual situación. La hipótesis principal de la investigación es que la integración de la cadena de valor incide positivamente en la competitividad del café mexicano.
