La participación del poder judicial en la construcción del estado liberal: Colima, 1857-1882

Abstract

When finishing my degree studies, I had opportunity to return to work to my native city: Colima. There I began to work for the Supreme Tribunal of Justice of the State. In the first months, while they specified me the tasks that he/she will carry out around the history of that Institution, I came closer to the organization of the judicial files that you/they were for their recent date in circumstance of being revised, or used inside the system of administration of current justice. When thumbing through some of them I noticed that the structure and terms used in the files reminded to the documents that I could study in my step for the colonial files in some moment, so much of Colima as of Michoacán. From that moment I perceived a historical inheritance - that to my view - we had not recognized inside our state contemporary institutions. I left this idea on one hand and I was devoted then to rescue in their more basic aspects the history of the Judicial Power of Colima, of which was a publication. The circumstances of the life returned me to Morelia and I decided to recapture my studies. In the master I found new tools to study the institutional life of the Judicial Power and I focused myself in one of the periods that more he/she has called my attention, the century XIX Mexican. The result has been the thesis that now conclude and in the one that found The paper of the Judicial Power in the construction of the liberal State, in Colima among 1857 and 1882.

Al terminar mis estudios de licenciatura, tuve oportunidad de regresar a laborar a mi ciudad natal: Colima. Ahí comencé a trabajar para el Supremo Tribunal de Justicia del Estado. En los primero meses, mientras me precisaban las tareas que iba a realizar alrededor de la historia de esa Institución, me acerqué a la organización de los expedientes judiciales que estaban por su fecha reciente en circunstancia de ser revisados, o utilizados dentro del sistema de administración de justicia actual. Al hojear algunos de ellos me percaté que la estructura y términos utilizados en los expedientes me recordaba a los documentos que en algún momento pude estudiar en mi paso por los archivos coloniales, tanto de Colima como de Michoacán. Desde ese momento percibí una herencia histórica -que a mi parecer- no habíamos reconocido dentro de nuestras instituciones estatales contemporáneas. Dejé esta idea por un lado y me dediqué entonces a rescatar en sus aspectos más básicos la historia del Poder Judicial de Colima, del cual resultó una publicación. Las circunstancias de la vida me regresaron a Morelia y decidí retomar mis estudios. En la maestría encontré herramientas nuevas para estudiar la vida institucional del Poder Judicial y me enfoqué en uno de los períodos que más ha llamado mi atención, el siglo XIX mexicano. El resultado ha sido la tesis que ahora concluyo y en la que encontré El papel del Poder Judicial en la construcción del Estado liberal, en Colima entre 1857 y 1882.
